Egg ‘Plants’

Thank God for the internet and the ocean of ideas it provides mums like me who can run out of creative juices quite often. Here is a very simple and creative method to teach your child the life cycle of plants. It is a Martha Stewart idea that I discovered on my friend’s pinterest.

All you need are a few egg shells, an egg carton and some pearl millets (kambu in Tamil) or fenugreek seeds (vendhayam) to create this miniature, no-mess garden.

It’s a great way to introduce your child to the plant kingdom. KT enjoys watering it and nurturing it. Every morning we pay our little garden a routine visit to check out how much they’ve grown.

I do not know how much bigger this plant would grow. But I couldn’t wait until then to share it with you all 😉

With a pair of googly eyes and a black sketch pen, you can turn it into a funky face with some really cool green hair that would keep growing!
